Wilson Bugembe is an acclaimed gospel singer, preacher, pastor and adopted father to many. He became renowned as a musician at a tender age of 19. Pastor Wilson Bugembe is the second born of six boys all of whom were born to HIV positive parents in Masaka. Wilson and his last born brother Brian narrowly escaped the epidemic when they were negative at birth. At the age of 10 Wilson Bugembe ran away from their home village in Masaka after the death of his father in 1995. When his parents and four of his brothers died, his grandfather began mistreating him and he fled to Kampala to live with his grandmother. Life with grandmother was sheer survival for the fittest as he could barely have anything for himself, not education, good feeding or good health. Wilson resorted to Kampala streets and ate from the city dustbin and slept under a tree for over two years. It’s from these streets that a Good Samaritan found and rescued him. Today he is the senior pastor of Light the World Ministries, an acclaimed gospel singer, adopted father to many.
